Youth Support Worker - Supported Living
24 hour p/w contract
£9.12 per hour
Our client is one of the largest UK charities that support children and young adults in a range of settings. They support the young people who have a range of learning difficulties and complex needs.
This project, supports young adults from the ages of 18-24 who have some learning difficulties but are also living semi-independently.
As a Youth Worker, you will be available to work in their homes to support them into becoming fully independent, engage with them on the running of a home, paying bills and being responsible for their safe and fulfilling their full potential.
Requirements of Youth Worker
+ Experience of working within a residential setting
+ Able to support young adults with a range of learning difficulties
+ Willing to verbally prompt the young people with a range of tasks such as cleaning, paying bill and rent, taking their medication, cooking meals and personal hygiene
+ Keep and maintain accurate reports and diaries of the young persons progress, activities and achievements
+ Undertake on-call duties as required (approx 1 x pcm)
+ Undertake the NVQ in Health and Social Care if not already qualified
This is a 24 hour per week permanent post with the opportunity to pick up additional over time shifts.
You must be able to obtain a valid Enhanced DBS.
