Team Leader Support Worker - Children

If you are looking for a role which will allow you to work hands on with children, as well as lead a team in delivering the highest level of care, supporting children in a community based environment and live in the Buckinghamshire area, then this Team Lead Activity Support Worker role could be the one for you.

Our client support children and families with weekend, after school and school holidays activities within Buckinghamshire; the children all have a range of learning difficulties, complex health needs and some with behaviour that challenges.


The Activity Centres are designed to provide the children and their families or carers with a broad range of diverse, stimulating and exciting activities ranging from swimming, cinema trips, outdoor orienteering, trampolining, bowling and restaurant visits to name but a few.

Located through the county, in places such as Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Marlow, Merton and Milton Keynes, as an Activities Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the children have a fun time as well as ensuring their full and complete safety, following care plans and risk assessments.

About you:

+ Ideally you should have a strong passion for the health and social care sector and a flair for care, having worked in a previous Senior Care role with children

+ Confident in leading, motivating and developing a team of Support Workers to deliver the highest possible care and safe guarding of the children in your care

+ Carry out risk assessments, activities and shift plans - identifying solutions to possible difficulties and ensure you have the correct team in place

+ Flexible with the ability to travel to various locations in Buckinghamshire - driving is not required

+ Confident in the safe guarding and support of children with complex needs

+ Experienced knowledge of Safeguarding children

+ Able to carry our referral assessments for new children

+ Effectively able to communicate with children of all ages as well as to their parents, families and external agencies

+ Provide a fun and stimulating environment whilst working safely at all times

+ Hold the NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or show a willingness to work towards this

+ EYFS qualified.

+ Ability to attend occasional training which might take place outside of regular hours

+ Carry out regular staff supervision

These roles are offered on a full time, permeant basis working a pattern of 5 days per week (Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday) including one or two evenings per week but my client is willing to negotiate on weekend on/weekend off patterns also.
