We have transformed the market for delivery of assured Data at Rest solutions and as such is expanding its business where a Test Development Engineer is required to work across multiple Cyber and Information Assurance development projects. We also design satellites, user terminals and gateway equipment and operate a network serving nearly a million subscribers in the United States and across Europe.
Working closely with the Development and Operations teams and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Test Development Engineer is responsible for a range of activities in the definition and implementation of design proving and production acceptance testing for new product developments. This includes the design and development of custom hardware and software.
Responsible for the definition of the design proving test strategy
Oversees, inputs, tests and validates against the requirements (DOORS)
Production of test procedures for integration test, system test etc
Responsible for the development of any test environments or fixtures required
Executes test plans and documents results, ensures reviews are held and issues followed up
Working with the product designers and manufacturing, define and document the production acceptance test process
Design and development of production test equipment for transfer to manufacturing, including custom test fixtures and software. Manages the - build of custom manufacturing test equipment.
Co-ordinates design work by other members of the team required for the production test environment
Owns the delivery of the production test hardware and software and ensures it meets the requirements of the project and manufacturing
Definition of EMC and environmental testing and manage testing through external test houses
Software experience (eg Python, C) to develop test applications on embedded platforms and PCs.
Experience of formal system level testing of hardware/software systems through the full system engineering lifecycle.
The ability to define and develop custom test fixtures and test circuits. Hardware schematic design experience an advantage. Good appreciation of mechanical design constraints.
Able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
Experience in the use and application of JTAG for product debug and test
Good appreciation of test processes for design proving and production test.
Experience of EMC and environmental testing.
Knowledge of Doors an advantage.
