£18.34 p/h PAYE or £24.46 p/h Umbrella company plus 33 days paid annaul leave

The Company
One of the world leading manufacturers of microscopes offering a range of high spec light and electron/ion microscopes, optical sectioning systems and high-resolution X-ray microscopes. Also, a leading provider of additional microscopy solutions in the life sciences, materials research, routine, and industry markets.
The Role
This is an instrument test role working on Scanning Electron Microscopes. The role will involve setting up the systems, going through the various calibration procedures, which are mainly computer-based and mechanical and checking the test points to make sure the machine is functioning properly before being dispatched to customers.
Duties include;
Assembly, sub-assembly and testing of systems and accessories consistent with the test area, to the final test procedure within flow line.
Trouble- shoot malfunctions and carrying out basic modifications as required
Maintenance of test equipment
Participate in lean activities
Actively contribute to driving continuous improvement
Maintain processes and procedures consistent with ISO standards.
Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.
Undergoing training as required by the business, to actively work towards obtaining and maintaining a full skill set in Test
Working hours:
Whilst undergoing training in the first 8 - 12 weeks working hours would be 7:15 - 16:15.
Thereafter the working hours will be 13:45 - 21:30 Monday -Friday.
Overtime is available at 1.5x standard and 2x on Sundays and bank holidays.
What is needed to apply?
Experience in hardware testing (electrical, electronic or mechanical)
Able to understand and follow specifications and standard operating procedures.
Experience of fault-finding on electronic or electromechanical systems.
Positive attitude and keen interest in up skilling and being trained!
