Trainee Quality Technician

An industry leading design and manufacturer of advanced naval radar and navigation systems are seeking a Trainee Quality Technician to work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Renowned for their highly complex technology, my client has become prominently established within the aerospace and defence markets worldwide. Their products include transceivers, antennas, trackers and detection equipment all of which considered state of the art systems.
Key accountabilities -
+ Provide hands on ERP (IFS) Design Data Configuration Control support.
+ Work closely with the Configuration Controller.
+ Attend design/ readiness reviews and release meetings
+ Provide hands on Quality Assurance support across all business units.
+ Work closely with the Product Quality Assurance Manager and wider management systems team.
+ Root cause problem analysis as part of the non-conformance corrective and preventative actions process.
+ Conduct internal and support external audits
+ Assist in continuous improvement programs to reduce cost and eliminate non-value add and waste.
Skills and knowledge required -
+ A minimum of 9-4 (A*-C) in Maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent
+ Preferably hold a level 3 engineering qualification already however we also encourage applications from candidates with experience in, or a passion for technology and/or engineering
On-the job training will be provided in the first 1-2 years by experienced professionals in order to get the trainee to the standard required for the job role. In addition there will be training provided in the format of both distant-learning by the chartered quality institute (CQI) that will develop core skills.
