Warehouse Operative

Location: Cambourne, Cambridgeshire

Duration: 1 year, rolling contract with strong likelihood of going permanent

Rate: £13.85/hr PAYE or £18.40/hr Umbrella

Hours: Monday-Friday 07:15-16.00 (some flexibility on start and finish time)

Summary

A leading manufacturer of high tech microscopes is now seeking a number of Warehouse Operatives to join their busy Production Planning and Logistics department, supporting the production of Scanning Electron Microscopes.

Roles available include Goods In Operative, Goods Out Operative and Returns Controller.

These are initially 1 year contracts paying £13.85 per hour (PAYE) or £18.40 per hour (Umbrella), based in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire.

The Roles

All the roles involve various duties across the Warehouse and Logistics department.

You will be responsible for either receiving goods, dispatching goods or processing fault goods that need to be returned to suppliers, depending on the role you are offered (if you have a preference please state this in your post-application telephone call with CBSbutler).

Goods In duties include the following;

  • All parts to be unloaded from lorry and decanted onto specific deliver trollies - no cardboard to be pushed into area.

  • Responsibility for ensuring all necessary parts are on the designated kitting trolley in a timely manner to meet start dates and delivered to specific areas.

  • Ensure the kitting list is available for each kitting trolley and that it is updated and displayed in a visual manner.

  • Culture of continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for receiving and returning of goods to and from warehouse via manifest (Supplier Returns)

  • Responsible for daily checks of fork lift

  • Location Compliance with Company procedures and controls (ISO 9001 &ISO14001) as defined.

  • Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.

  • Comply with company Health and safety procedures.

Goods Out duties include;

  • Pre-Packing of systems and 4 eye check to ensure all parts on sales order are present

  • Final packing of systems in Wooden crate and accessories into accessory box

  • Responsible for receiving and returning of goods to and from warehouse via manifest (Supplier Returns)

  • Responsible for daily checks of fork lift

  • Culture of continuous improvement.

  • Location Compliance with Company procedures and controls (ISO 9001 &ISO14001) as defined.

  • Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.

  • Comply with company Health and safety procedures.

Returns Controller duties include;

  • Timely return of all reworkable items that need to be sent back to third party suppliers, this includes the request of RMA and creation of all paperwork to be sent back with goods, SAP bookings and packaging.

  • Return of all parts good production parts back to stock - Bookings in SAP and creation of manifest

  • Responsible for the return delivery of all takt trollies/boxes to warehouse

  • Assist Goods In receipt and unpacking

  • Culture of continuous improvement.

  • Perform other duties that may be required from time to time.

  • Comply with company Health and safety procedures.

What is on offer?

  • £13.85 per hour (PAYE) or £18.40 per hour (Umbrella)

  • Security - long term contract of 1 year with a likelihood of going permanent.

  • 28 days paid annual leave (including bank) increasing to 33 days paid annual leave (including bank holidays) after 12 weeks (PAYE contractors only)

  • Fork lift licence or SAP experience is a bonus!
