Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be proactive, diligent with a strong technical ability, able to work as part of a team at a technical and non-technical level. The role includes primarily hands-on implementation tasks, with some design work in support of the System Design Team and both Test and Integration managers.

The project will require an awareness of operating infrastructure services in a secured environment and an understanding of enabling security lockdown and controls to allow system accreditation.

A successful candidate will be directly responsible for:

• Physical Installation of Reference Model equipment into racks

• Deployment of the baseline Configuration

• Management of all updates and patching to maintain the system at the correct baseline

• Hands on deployment of their Knowledge of Microsoft and Virtualisation Techniques

• Fault finding and problem solving

• Supporting other enabling technologies (e.g. System Centre, Exchange, SQL)

• Produce high quality technical documentation for design documents, configuration & build data sets

Essential:

• Experience in design of a 24/7 high availability & highly secure systems; Skillful in identifying design risks.

• Proven experience of designing multi-vendor complex secure communications and information exchange network interfaces to government grade.

• Proven experience of working with product vendors to optimize a solution

• Application of security hardening/lockdown of systems

• The position requires a minimum of +5 years' experience within a similar role preferably working in secure environment such as MOD/GOV/NATO.

Demonstrable Skills/Qualifications or experience in a number of the following areas:

+ Microsoft Windows Security (GAP, Security Compliance Manager, Windows Firewall)

+ MCSA 2012/2016 design level

+ Microsoft Windows Server

+ Workstation operating systems

+ Microsoft Exchange

+ SQL Server

+ WSUS, WDS, MDT & DFS

+ VMWare experience

+ Group Policy

+ Symantec Netbackup/Backup Exec

+ TCP/IP Networks (DHCP/DNS/WINS)

+ Antivirus Software (McAfee ePO)

+ Solar Winds

+ SPLUNK SIEM implementation
