Role & Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for leading all aspects regarding the implementation of new manufacturing processes and equipment including Concept Review, Preliminary Design Review, Detailed Design Review, procurement, installation, and budget management
  • Define Functional Requirements, create Statements of Work, and prepare Requests for Quote, and all associated documentation
  • Develop and maintain plans to meet production quality, cost and schedule targets
  • Lead Peer Reviews, PFMEA's, and EH&S Reviews related to new tooling and equipment changes
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Manage production process changes due to product design changes to meet production plan

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in manufacturing required
  • Proficiency with varied manufacturing concepts such as VSM, 3P, Lean, SPC, Capacity Analysis,
  • JIT, MRP, Kanban, TQM, PM, etc.
  • Project management experience including ownership of quality, cost and scheduling
  • Experience with Capital Equipment procurement and Installation
  • Advanced experience with automated production equipment
  • Good understanding of manufacturing technology/concepts and cost reductions

  • Plan machining by studying works orders
  • Set up and run grinders by installing or adjusting fixed and rolling centres, tools, attachments, steadies and grinding wheels.

An international manufacturer of high technology & engineering solutions are looking to recruit a Technical Specialist within Material Science to provide specialist investigation of materials, components and processes used in engineering and manufacture. The owner of this role will need to be capable of root-cause analysis over a range of challenging materials, employing advanced analytical techniques. The individual will be capable of managing technical investigations and projects at a high level.
