Contract BMS Commissioning Engineer - London Projects
Location: Central London and surrounding areas
Contract Length: 6 months initially (Outside IR35)
Rate: Competitive day rate (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP

We're working with a leading BMS provider supporting a high volume of new-build and refurbishment projects across London. They're looking for a skilled Contract BMS Commissioning Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract to support the commissioning and delivery of Building Management Systems on a range of commercial sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who can take ownership of commissioning tasks and deliver projects to a high technical standard with minimal supervision.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the full commissioning cycle - from pre-commissioning and software loading to functional testing and final handover. You'll work closely with the project delivery team, attending site meetings, completing witness testing, and ensuring all works are carried out in line with project specs.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission BMS control systems and associated M&E plant

• Carry out software loading, graphics testing, and functional point-to-point checks

• Pre-commission and test panels, peripherals, and third-party integrations

• Support and lead on-site witness testing and client demonstrations

• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to meet delivery deadlines

• Produce and maintain accurate commissioning documentation and daily site reports

• Identify and escalate technical issues, propose practical solutions on site

• Ensure work is delivered in line with health and safety requirements and QA standards

Requirements

• Strong experience commissioning BMS systems (Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Distech, Delta or similar)

• Background in electrical or mechanical engineering (ONC/HNC or equivalent preferred)

• CSCS/ECS card and full UK driving licence

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site responsibilities

• Right to work in the UK

• Day rate negotiable based on experience
