Financial Controller

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation based in Romsey. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving financial excellence, improving reporting processes, and supporting strategic decision-making.

You will be responsible for overseeing core finance operations while contributing to process improvements and ensuring robust financial control across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations (AR, AP, GL, inventory, fixed assets)

• Prepare and deliver monthly and annual financial statements

• Drive improvements in financial reporting processes and controls

• Oversee treasury and cash management activities

• Coordinate budgeting and forecasting cycles

• Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance

• Oversee tax matters, including VAT

• Lead and develop the financial reporting team

• Partner with stakeholders and support the Finance Director

• Analyse financial data, challenge assumptions, and provide actionable insights

Key Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role

• Strong background in group reporting and financial statements

• Experience managing end-to-end finance operations

• Solid understanding of accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP)

• Experience with ERP systems (IFS desirable)

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders
