About the Role

A leading global IT consultancy is seeking a Change Impact Technical Consultant to join its expanding Defence and National Security division. This is a highly customer-facing role that demands strong technical leadership and a deep understanding of both business and technical requirements.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable network solutions, producing high-quality design documentation, guiding the technical delivery, and ensuring compliance through internal governance processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret complex business and technical requirements to create robust and secure network solutions.

  • Lead the development of design documentation, ensuring all outputs meet internal quality and governance standards.

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to operational handover.

  • Collaborate closely with programme teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support integrated solution delivery.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to understand and address customer business and technical needs through effective solution design.

  • Experience designing and implementing solutions with technologies from global network vendors such as Cisco and Juniper.

  • Strong documentation skills with a track record of producing high-quality technical collateral.

  • Industry-recognised certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Juniper JNCIA-Design, or JNCIA-Junos.

  • Ability to deliver non-standard solutions that span LAN, WAN, WiFi, VPN, Voice, Video, Cyber, and Security technologies.

  • Solid understanding of the full project lifecycle, with an awareness of delivery risks, dependencies, and commercial considerations.

  • Confident supporting programme managers with reporting and delivery tracking to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead discussions and make informed decisions under pressure.


Desirable

  • Previous experience working within the UK Defence sector or other secure environments.
