Job Spec:
The contractor will provide tech refresh Services for MS Surface Pro, Windows 11 Tech refresh of approximately 5000 devices,
Day-to-day activities will include Window 11 Microsoft Surface Pro Hardware and Software refresh
Candidate will need strong interpersonal skills, organisation, excellent written and verbal communication as well as sound IT knowledge comprising of hardware and software technologies in particular MS Surface Pro devices, various Window operating systems particularly Windows 10 and 11 versions. Understanding and previous exposure to ServiceNow is desirable.
Primary role requirements:
- Use of Booking Tool (ServiceNow) - To confirm user and time slot
- Confirm with user on their upgrade preference (To be carried out Onsite or Remote)
- MS Surface Device - Unlock the BIOS Boot configuration Lock setting
- Boot User Device
- Action - User to log in
- Capture all installed applications, peripherals, and all AD groups memberships
- Perform system health check (Disk Space & System Errors)
- Clean up disk where possible (Free up space - 70gb)
- Where possible disable OneDrive sync (For further Disk space)
- Are the device windows 11 upgradable (HDD Size)?
- Shut down device and hand to user to Perform Windows 11 Upgrade at their convenience
Or
- Apply in place Windows 11 upgrade in the clinic
- If device is not Windows 11 capable - rebuild / replace
- If replace, apply new Windows 11 build
- Once built install Applications, peripherals & add to relevant AD groups
- Apply Windows and Office updates where applicable
- Get user to log into the new / rebuilt device
- Test Ozone WIFI
- Test 4G WIFI
- Update user records / Inventory
- Hand new device to user
Mandatory Knowledge Required
- Some AD experience (Adding objects groups)
- Windows 10 & 11 Knowledge (OneDrive, System logs)
- Troubleshooting knowledge with device and applications
- Windows Administration (HDD cleanup)
- Some SCCM TS building knowledge
