Summary

A People Operations Manager is required within a small to medium enterprise within the pharmaceutical engineering industry, to be the first point of contact for basic HR functions with additional people management responsibilities.

The client

An SME acting as a UK-based, technical agent for three Italian manufacturers of pharmaceutical process equipment. This organisation brokers the sale of this process equipment to their blue chip pharmaceutical customers in the UK and manage the import, installation and maintenance of this large, industrial-sized, automated machinery post sale.

The role

As the People Operations Manager your role will have a strong people management focus overseeing a team of remote staff, nurturing their talent, ensuring high retention, and continually fostering an environment where staff feel valued and supported. You will also be responsible for supporting your team and the wider business in HR related responsibilities such as enhancing staff performance, refining people processes, inducting new staff members and developing policies.

Duties can responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Line management including recruitment, onboarding, planning training and reviewing performance.
  • Representing the interests of your team to the wider business.
  • Employee engagement.
  • Issue resolution.
  • Updating HR policies and procedures.
  • HR administrative tasks related to the employee lifecycle process and company benefits, compensation and employee recognition programmes.
  • Taking the lead internally in relation to any HR related activities, with the support of an external HR representative.

This role will be based in Redhill, Surrey with some flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. However, as a senior level position, you may need to work outside of these hours on occassions.
