The Role:
You will be responsible for designing test solutions which will characterise and validate our photonics devices. The role is multi-disciplinary with a strong software element but also needs knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.
You will own and drive your project from concept all the way through to deployment into volume manufacturing. Employees are encouraged to have an innovative mind-set and developing new ways of solving problems is positively encouraged.
Design test solutions to characterise optoelectronic components; this includes developing the test software and specifying the hardware/instruments needed.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams in R&D, product design and manufacturing to develop new and imporve existing test solutions.
Be responsible for the test development for a new product from R&D to volume. Transfer test capabilities from R&D into volume manufacturing.
Build and validate prototype test equipment.
Analyse test data to drive yield and process improvements.
Ensure solutions meet the quality criteria (Specification, Repeatability, and Accuracy), Dfx goals and enhance capital efficiency.
Training and support of manufacturing staff during new product introduction.
Part of the role will require spending time in a cleanroom environment. Manufacturing is worldwide and international travelling will be required from time to time.
Support to manufactring as needed.
Essential:
Degree level or higher qualification in Electrical/Electronic engineering, computer science, physics or related field.
5 or more years of experience in electrical/electronic and/or semiconductor engineering environment.
The role generally has an 70% software / 30% hardware development mix and as such will require relevant experience in:
+ Software development using C/C#/Vb.Net
+ Understanding of electronic devices and circuits.
+ Test/Measurement instrumentation.
+ Common protocols GPIB, LXI, Ethernet, RS232 etc
