Job Opportunity: Solicitor - Energy/Projects (2-6 years PQE)

Location: London ​

About the Firm: ​ Medium-sized niche law firm based in London, with additional offices in several other locations. ​ Recognized by Legal 500 and Chambers UK, the firm specializes in areas like banking, construction, commercial litigation, corporate, employment, projects, and property. ​ It has a strong focus on social housing clients and private developers, with over 350 employees and partners. ​

About the Team: ​ The Projects Team is part of the Real Estate and Projects Team, handling public procurement, commercial contracts, IP/IT, joint ventures, and public-private partnership projects. ​

Role Overview: Client is seeking a Solicitor with 2-6 years PQE to join their Energy/Projects Team in London. ​ The role focuses on energy-related matters, including advising on heat networks, ESCO arrangements, renewable energy projects, and energy infrastructure like EV charging. ​

Candidates should have strong technical skills, experience in energy law, and ideally a background in PFI/PPP projects. ​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft clear advice and maintain client relationships. ​
  • Manage files, projects, and deadlines independently. ​
  • Participate in marketing and business development. ​
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and legal standards. ​
  • Provide monthly invoices and progress reports to clients. ​

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years PQE as a solicitor in the field of energy in this jurisdiction (experience of PFI/PPP projects is also welcomed)
  • CILEx Lawyers must have Higher Rights
  • Strong drafting, communication, and client care skills. ​
  • Experience with IT contracts or advising local authorities is beneficial. ​
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage workloads effectively. ​
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet applications. ​
  • Empathy for the social housing/not-for-profit sector is helpful. ​

Please note, that team members are expected to work in the office at least three days a week.
