NPI Quality Engineer / Senior NPI Quality Engineer

  • £40,000 - £55,000 + excellent bens.

We're supporting a leading advanced engineering and manufacturing organisation developing complex, safety-critical products. As the business continues to invest in new technologies and manufacturing capability, we're looking for an NPI Quality Engineer or Senior NPI Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring quality is built into every stage of product development.

This is an opportunity to influence how new products are designed, validated and introduced into manufacture, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Project teams from concept through to production.

The Role

You'll be responsible for embedding quality throughout the New Product Introduction process, ensuring robust planning, risk management and governance while driving a right-first-time culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting New Product Introduction from design through to production handover
  • Applying quality planning tools including APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, FAIRs and Control Plans
  • Supporting prototype manufacture, verification and validation activities
  • Leading root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring manufacturing readiness through effective quality planning
  • Developing KPIs and reporting on NPI quality performance
  • Working across Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to improve product quality and reduce risk

About You

You'll have experience working within a highly regulated engineering or manufacturing environment where quality is critical.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience in aerospace, defence, automotive, medical devices or another advanced manufacturing sector
  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction or Product Development processes
  • Experience using quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, FAIRs, Control Plans and 8D methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions
  • HNC, HND or Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience

For the Senior position, you'll also have experience leading quality activities, mentoring colleagues and driving continuous improvement across NPI programmes.
