- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
- Apply risk-based testing and effective test design techniques.
- Analyse business requirements, processes and technical architectures to develop appropriate testing strategies.
- Ensure applications are designed with automation and testability in mind.
- Support manual testing where automation is not appropriate.
- Work closely with developers through collaboration and pair-programming.
- Coach and upskill engineering teams, promoting quality as a shared responsibility.
- Manage test data and testing collateral.
- Contribute across unit, system, functional and integration testing.
- Support non-functional testing, including performance, accessibility and security.
- Communicate testing risks, progress and outcomes to technical and business stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Strong commercial experience as a Quality Engineer, Test Engineer, Automation Engineer or similar.
- Strong software testing and automation experience.
- CI/CD experience.
- Strong knowledge of Git; GitLab experience highly desirable.
- Commercial experience with Java and Spring.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Understanding of TDD and/or BDD.
- Strong test analysis and test design skills.
- Experience with databases and test data management.
- Experience with risk-based testing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience coaching or supporting development teams.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- Ability to work across multiple areas of a product and adapt to changing priorities.

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
JUnit | Playwright | Selenium | Cucumber/Gherkin | Gatling | OWASP ZAP | SonarQube | WireMock | Axe | WCAG | Kubernetes | Docker | Microservices | AWS | OpenAPI | GitHub Copilot
The Opportunity
