Senior Quality Engineer | Defence Technology

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to play a key role in shaping and maintaining a robust Business Management System (BMS) while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

🔧 What you'll be doing

In this senior role within the Quality team, you'll help drive quality excellence across the full product lifecycle.

• Maintaining and continually improving the Business Management System (BMS) in line with ISO 9001 and defence quality standards
• Managing the internal audit programme and conducting audits to ensure compliance and drive improvement
• Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys and similar methodologies
• Supporting design reviews and customer quality requirements across bids and contracts
• Investigating customer returns and non-conformances
• Driving supplier quality performance, including audits, APQP activity, FAIs and improvement plans
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance processes, reduce defects and strengthen the supply chain

🎯 What we're looking for

• Experience managing BMS/QMS within a design & manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits and continuous improvement
• Practical experience with 8D problem solving and root cause analysis
• Ability to develop clear processes, procedures and quality documentation
• Confident communicator able to engage with engineers, suppliers and customers

Desirable experience

• Defence, aerospace or electro-mechanical manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of AQAP2110 or AS9100
• Supplier quality and design assurance experience
