Technical Architect (DV Cleared) - Contract
Location: Corsham, England (Full-time on site - secure location)
Rate: Up to £650 - £750 per day - Inside IR35
Duration: Initial 12 months
Start Date: ASAP (subject to BPSS & DV clearance checks)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced DV-cleared Technical Architect to provide technical leadership in the design and delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure solutions within a highly regulated government environment.

The role will lead end-to-end infrastructure architecture across virtualisation, networking, security, and identity platforms, working closely with delivery teams, operations, and senior stakeholders to ensure solutions meet strict architectural, security, and compliance standards.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical design from high-level architecture to low-level implementation.

• Define and maintain infrastructure architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.

• Design and govern solutions based on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

• Provide deep technical expertise in NSX-T, including overlay networking, micro-segmentation, and distributed firewalling.

• Architect secure network solutions across data centre and hybrid environments.

• Provide architectural oversight of enterprise identity platforms, including Active Directory and ADFS.

• Design and support Windows and Linux server platforms.

• Produce and maintain high-quality HLDs and LLDs.

• Act as a technical authority during delivery, resolving complex technical issues.

• Translate business requirements into robust, secure technical solutions.

• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect or Senior Infrastructure Architect

• Strong expertise in:

  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

  • NSX-T Data Centre

  • Network security and firewall technologies

  • Routing and switching (enterprise-scale)

  • Identity & Access Management (Active Directory, ADFS)

  • Windows Server and Linux

• Extensive experience producing HLDs and LLDs

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Comfortable providing technical leadership across multiple workstreams

Desirable Experience

• Hybrid or multi-cloud architectures

• Automation and Infrastructure as Code

• Zero Trust and security architecture principles

• Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
