2nd Line Support Engineer - SC Cleared

+ 12 month contract

+ £200 per day

+ Server 2008/2012

+ Active Directory/VMWare

Key Skills

  • Experience of a windows 8 /10 environment and supporting standard office productivity tools
  • Server 2012 R2 / 2016
  • Virtual server Environments VMWARE
  • Account Management Active Directory
  • Previous experience working on a customer facing help desk
  • Resolving incidents.
  • Managing escalations
  • Strong Communication skills with all levels within an organisation.
  • Experience of working on Military systems desirable

2nd Line Support Engineer

  • Recording and responding to incidents and service requests using Solarwinds Helpdesk tool
  • Updating tickets through to completion including management of escalation the resolver groups.
  • Provide basic support and troubleshooting such as password resets, printer configuration, break fix instructions at level 1
  • At level 2 follow documented processes and workflows to resolve common incidents / resolve service requests such as account creation / change permissions, Build EUD's using standard image tools
  • Manage Break fix including escorting engineers onto site and removing hardware under instruction.
  • Issuing equipment on site.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager the ideal candidate will have had several years' experience within a similar environment working as a level 2 support engineer. The ideal candidate will be predominately windows / VMware focused but will have basic knowledge of networking in particular Cisco products.
