ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER - LIFE SCIENCE

£25,000 - £29,000 per annum

My client are specialists in the research, development, manufacture and sale of innovative medical diagnostic products, instrumentation and materials focused on Multiple Myeloma and other immune system disorders.

They are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Assistant Project Manager to be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to the required quality standards (within agreed specifications).

Duties of Project Manager

  • Communicate project goals, milestones & deliverables to project teams

  • Control project plans for each NPD/other business projects as approved by the Ops Board

  • Work with Project Managers and Project Leads to provide a professional project management service internally and externally to key stakeholders

  • Monitor and report on progress of projects to all stakeholders

  • Measure project performance and deliverables using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

  • Collect and collate project information to allow successful project review (lessons learnt) at close of project

  • Is the first point of contact for the project core team, clients and stakeholders for projects under their management

Essential Experience/Skills of Project Manager

  • A relevant scientific degree or equivalent (Biology, biochemistry or immunology background) or some experience working within a Biological Sciences or Clinical or R&D laboratory setting

  • Have worked to a timeline driven process

  • Basic/Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office packages (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) or equivalent

  • Good verbal/written communication skills - articulate and diplomatic manner

  • Methodical, accurate and consistent attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information

  • Able to build good relationships at all levels internally and externally

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Active listening

  • Critical thinking

  • Resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work under pressure
