What is the role?

As a Bid Manager you will be tasked with overseeing the UK tender processes to ensure maximum efficiency, quality and profitability. This will involve the maintenance and development of the bidding processes in place whilst also managing a team of two established Tender Administrators. Your customer base will predominantly be medical and life science clients and so you will regularly be navigating the NHS procurement process and bidding for work with the NHS.

Applicants can be living anywhere in the UK as this role is primarily working from home with only occasional travel for business purposes.

Working hours are 40hrs/week between Monday to Friday.

Duties and responsibilities;

  • Manage, direct and monitor the overall performance of the tender's team and process

  • Overseeing a team of two Bid Administrators

  • Being the point of contact between the Tender Department and the wider organisation and supporting other departments with tender-related issues.

  • Maintenance of a tender submission database

  • Performance analysis and reporting of the Bid Team

  • Identifying areas for improvement within the current tendering process and implementing positive change where required

  • Assisting in the development and preparation of the organisations tender process streety and general business planning

What experience do you need to apply?

It is essential you have;

  • Tender Manager, Bid Manager or Contract Manager experience within the public sector e.g. the NHS, local councils, government military / MOD, public transport, education etc.

  • An MCIPS qualification

  • A valid UK driving licence

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good commercial acumen

It will be beneficial if you also have;

  • A degree qualification (or above)

  • Bid management, tender management or contract management experience with the NHS specifically
