Compliance Officer

The role will encompass a broad range of interactions, in conjunction with the Trade Compliance Manager and the Head of Commercial, the provision of guidance, assistance, technical (contractual & regulatory) and commercial inputs in respect to all aspects of our business operations

The post holder will provide practical assistance to the Trade Compliance Manager and Director of Commercial Affairs with respect to the Job Functions listed below:

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across all business activities, and adherence to corporate ethics and compliance policies and procedures

  • Advising and guiding all employees on all compliance-related issues

  • Being the subject matter expert on internal compliance policies and procedure .

  • Legal assessment of compliance-relevant contract matters in the UK and abroad

  • Development and monitoring of preventive measures and processes to ensure the company's compliance policy is maintained and operational

  • Contribute to the creation of policies and processes to ensure lawful business operations

  • Conducting due diligence checks on all qualifying third parties to determine if compliance clearance should be recommended based on internal policies, raising enquiries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders in support of Due Diligence.

  • Following Due Diligence approval, to draft, review and negotiate the appropriate contractual agreement to reflect the terms and conditions governing the third party arrangement.


Significant demonstrable experience in the majority of the key areas.

  • Good communicator - able to assess and adjust presentation and content to target audiences including support to senior management and/or customer facing discussions when required.

  • Customer focused - experience in dealing with customers on programmes and new bids. Experience in contracting with UK MoD and/or in export markets would be an advantage.

  • Independent-minded - whilst effectively contributing to a team, willing and able to draw attention to unaddressed or unresolved issues and significant residual risks.

  • Pragmatic and commercially alert - effective at identifying and assessing risk, mitigations and risk management.

  • Experienced in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
