Would you like to provide technical support within the Land domain of a global aerospace and defence organisation with a focus on Vehicle Mission Systems ?

You should have experience in all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and be able to support technical activities on current programmes as well as providing support to develop concepts, requirements, architectures and system designs - taking these forward to implementation, integration, test and evaluation and ultimately production.

You will be working on projects associated with both internally funded products as well as products directly deliverable to key customers within short timescales. The successful candidate would be joining a dedicated team with a full and stretching workload.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • All Systems Engineering aspects of new and existing product lines (e.g. Vehicle camera systems, communication networks) working at all phases of the development lifecycle.

  • Technical coordination of demonstrator systems.

  • Support to the development of current and future Systems architectures/designs and their implementation.

  • Capture of design artefacts as appropriate for all stages in the engineering lifecycle appropriate for managing existing systems and for taking concepts through to production.

  • Developing plans for integration, test and evaluation and ultimately acceptance.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Essential:

  • Experience of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, from development and management of requirements (preferably using DOORS) through to acceptance testing.

  • Awareness of Functional analysis and Specification development.

  • The ability to work with other Engineering disciplines and external suppliers/customers.

  • Conducting, analysing and reporting of qualification testing to support design certification.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with Electro-Optical Systems, CCTV/thermal imaging.

  • Previous experience working with networked communication systems on various platforms.

  • Working knowledge of DOORS for requirements management.

  • Experience working on Bids & Proposals and knowledge of military and international specifications and standards is highly desirable.

  • Experience of developing complex data analysis using tools such as MATLAB.

  • Experience of Model Driven Engineering approaches (eg Rhapsody, Simulink) would also be an advantage.
