Strategy · Develop and embed an Early Talent Attraction strategy with the Snr. Early Talent Recruitment Advisor · Continue to support and embed a coherent social mobility and ED&I strategy for the Early Talent population, working alongside the ED&I committee · Oversee the Early Trainee Reward strategy, with the support of the Head of HR, and lead on Early Talent market benchmarking · Oversee the holistic development journey for the Early Talent population, with the support of the Head of L&D Recruitment · Oversee the recruitment processes for all those on early talent pathways (currently ACA and AAT, to include ACCA, CTA, ATT and others moving forwards) · Raise the profile of the firm and position the firm as an employer of choice through attending relevant events · Oversee the design and overall delivery of the assessment centres · Develop and oversee a structured internship programme - Oversee and authorise the preparation and issue of appropriate contractual documentation in relation to appointments, terminations, and variations of employment.
· Oversee the salary review and promotion process for the Early Talent population - Coach leaders in relation to performance management issues
L&D - Oversee and help to facilitate Early Talent induction and integration activities
- Oversee the L&D journey for trainees including:
- Work with the ICAEW, CIOT and other professional bodies to understand the technical and transferable skill requirements for Early Talent populations to successfully qualify
- Work with our designated training provider to understand and design the most suitable study paths for our Early Talent populations
- Collaborate with the Technical Training Director on specific in-house technical training needs
- Oversee the design/delivery of transferable skills training with the Early Talent Advisors (development)
- Oversee additional development interventions e.g. mentoring and career coaching
- Work with job-based managers to support the trainee L&D journey on-the-job
· Oversee the creation of multiple pathways for Tax trainees including ACA/CTA and ATT/CTA - Oversee the relationship with training providers e.g. registration of trainees, course bookings, exam bookings, progress monitoring with Early Talent Advisors and Co-ordinator (Development)
- Oversee and track the trainee training budget, including the apprenticeship levy
- Identify and measure the ROI of trainee L&D
- Work with the Learning & Development team to devise learning for training/line managers on people management, with specific reference to training manager responsibilities as required by the relevant professional bodies
People Management - Responsible for line management of Early Talent team of 5 individuals
- Represent Early Talent within the People team management group
- Work with fellow People team managers to support the development of the broader People team
Miscellaneous - To manage ad hoc Early Talent project work
- To oversee ad hoc ER activities for Early Talent population with support from the HR Advisor
- Support with the collation of strategic MI and share insights with People Exec team
- Keep up-to-date with Early Talent trends and developments
- Knowledge share with other members of the wider People team
Skills and Experience | - A solid interest in the People profession
- Able to build close relationships in client groups with people at all levels, from trainee to leadership
- A good understanding of our business environment and the challenges facing our client groups and our sector more broadly
- A progressive and non-bureaucratic approach to People, recognising first and foremost that people are individuals and human beings
- An awareness of the latest People and Early Talent trends, insights and innovations
- An ability to formulate and implement strategy
