An industry leading technology and engineering company are looking to add a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Quality Engineer to their growing team. Their unique products are world renowned as being best in class.
Reporting to the Product Quality Assurance Manager, you would be responsible to ensure the high standards of quality by determining and overseeing control and inspection standards for incoming and manufactured goods, and oversee in-house and supplier test methods to validate product, as built, will function to meet the requirements.
Identify areas to improve quality control and process discipline by; daily shop floor interaction, regular communication, audit, data capture, trend analysis, and establish change to maximise both in-house and supplier performance. Monthly reporting of KPI performance against set targets, activities achieved & planned, and progress against improvement roadmap.
Your responsibilities - Junior Quality Engineer - Electromechanical:
To inspect UK manufactured products and ensure that they are built to drawing or PICL.
Review and approve shop floor defect occurrences to create Q-Pulse non-conformance incidents.
Manage the daily Material Review Board process, taking ownership of actions and driving resolution.
Determine and oversee control and inspection standards for incoming and manufactured goods.
Identify areas to improve quality control and process discipline, establishing change to maximise both in-house and supplier performance.
Ensure, by audit, company tooling assets are managed to process and Q-Pulse records are maintained.
Manage the external and external-on-site calibration process, ensuring Q-Pulse records are up to date.
Manage Q-Pulse and deliver the annual MED audit and Gemba Walk programme.
Monthly reporting of KPI performance, inspection Right First Time and part defect trend analysis, with defined improvement actions.
Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure product conforms to the latest drawing, specification, workmanship standard, and that customer requirements are met.
Participate in 8D investigation activities.
Your background - Junior Quality Engineer - Electromechanical
Proven experience in a Quality Technician/Engineering position, greater than 3 years.
Experience in Quality Control processes and tools.
Strong problem solving skills, ideally using 8D methodology.
Experience of working in an electromechanical manufacturing/engineering environment.
Quality Management system knowledge around ISO 9001:2015.
Experience in providing active support to process engineering in continuous improvement activities.
Knowledge of ESD protocols
Knowledge of IPC 610, IPC 620 and Marine Equipment Directive would be an advantage.
Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 would be an advantage.
Knowledge of FAI would be an advantage.
Knowledge of Q-Pulse would be an advantage.
