A leading defence organisation are looking to recruit a Mechanical Computer Aided Design Engineer who will be involved in projects from initial concept stage through to the issue of production drawings.

Key accountabilities - Mechanical Computer Aided Design Engineer

+ Creating and modifying 3D models using Creo 9

+ Producing detail production drawings (Weapon and Tooling), ensuring conformance to BS8888 and manufacturability (using DFMA techniques)

+ Managing model and drawing data through Windchill 12

+ Drawing and design checking

+ Producing interface drawings with the relevant authorities

+ Modelling and reporting model mechanical properties

+ Liaison with the customer, manufacturers and suppliers, and on-site commissioning trial engineers (using DFMA techniques)

+ Reviewing/challenging design concepts

Skills and knowledge required - Mechanical Computer Aided Design Engineer

+ The candidate would ideally have a degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design and a minimum of a HNC in mechanical engineering (or another relevant engineering qualification).
