Principal Software Developer

Location: Luton

Salary: £44,000 - £52,000

A global aerospace and defence organisation specialising in electronic systems and advanced technology installed on helicopters, fast-jet and unmanned air vehicles, is looking for a Principal Software Developer to join the Electronic Warfare capability.

You will be involved with novel product development and emerging technologies that have been supported by Leonardo's £200m annual investment in research and development.

Key responsibility Areas - Principal Software Developer

  • Your software skills will be utilised across the full software lifecycle with the opportunity to contribute towards the investigation and analysis of leading-edge development methodologies and influence the future path of software development

Skills - Qualifications - Principal Software Developer

  • You should have a degree level qualification in a relevant discipline

  • Extensive knowledge of designing, developing and debugging software in a real time embedded environment with an understanding of software development methodologies, tools and compilers.

  • Some experience of architecting real time embedded software solutions.

  • Programming in an object-oriented programming language.

  • Examples of leading a team providing technical direction, coaching and mentoring of team members.

  • Demonstrable experience and success within your previous role, including taking responsibility for remaining up-to-date with relevant technology and personal development.
