Principal Systems Engineer
To provide technical expertise within the Land and Naval domain with a focus on Electro-Optic systems for land, air and naval platforms. The successful candidate should have experience in all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and be able to coordinate existing knowledge and data on current programmes as well as providing technical support to develop concepts, architectures and define system designs - taking these forward to implementation, integration, test and evaluation and ultimately production.
The successful candidate would be working on projects associated with both internally funded products as well as products directly deliverable to key customers within short timescales. The successful candidate would be joining a dedicated team with a full and stretching workload - with huge potential for personal development and growth.
Key Responsibility Areas
+All Systems Engineering aspects of new and existing EO Systems, working at all phases of the development lifecycle.
+Technical leadership and development of junior team members. Supporting the development of current and future Systems architectures/designs and their implementation.
+Robust capture of design artefacts as appropriate for all stages in the engineering lifecycle appropriate for managing existing systems and for taking concepts through to production.
Skills, Qualifications& Knowledge Required
+Previous experience working with EO Systems, particularly thermal imaging.
+Experience of the Systems Engineering lifecycle, from development and management of requirements (preferably using DOORS) through to acceptance testing.
+Experience working on Bids & Proposals and knowledge of military and international specifications and standards is highly desirable. Awareness of Functional analysis and Specification development is highly desirable as would be the ability to work with other disciplines and external suppliers/customers.
+Experience of developing complex data analysis using tools such as MATLAB.
+Conducting, analysing and reporting of qualification testing to support design certification.
+Experience of Model Driven Engineering approaches (eg Rhapsody, Simulink) would also be an advantage.
