A Principle Monitoring Tooling Engineer is required to join a team responsible for delivering and maintaining cutting edge monitoring tools across a global technology infrastructure for a market leading data analytics company.
Role: Principle Monitoring Tooling Engineer
As Principle Monitoring Tooling Engineer you will be responsible for:
+ Building and maintaining a standard set of cloud and COLO hosted tools, to provide compliance, monitoring and vulnerability management to all of our products and services
+ Be the subject matter expert in some of the following tools and have a good working knowledge of supporting and configuring others:
JIRA, Freshservice/FreshDesk, Pagerduty, CloudFlare, Solar Winds, New Relic, CloudHealth, Commvault, Tanium, and SCOM with the potential for developing aggregation tooling over the next 18 months.
+ Supporting tools integrations with ticketing and configuration management solutions
+ Providing guidance and leadership to more junior members of the team
+ Knowledge and experience of configuring dashboards and reporting tools for use within an Operational environment
+ Troubleshoot and triage tooling and integration issues efficiently while effectively communicating escalations and outcomes
Experience:
As Principle Monitoring Tooling Engineer you will have experience of:
+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Computer Science or other relevant discipline
+ Significant experience in a technical support, ideally hosting in the Cloud, and on premise, or similar role
+ Strong analytical skills and able to collate and interpret data from various sources
+ Excellent fault diagnostic skills with the ability to assess and prioritise faults and respond or escalate accordingly
+ Experience of deploying and integrating monitoring technologies, ideally in an Enterprise sized organisation
+ Demonstrable knowledge of Configuration Management and integration with multiple data feeds and integration's
+ Extensive knowledge of scripting technologies required to build and configure tooling environment
+ Strong knowledge of Infrastructure services (Cloud and on premise)
+ Strong understanding of Operating systems (either Linux, or Wintel)
