A global leader in the Aerospace and Defence industry are looking for a Production Team Leader to supervise a team of operators and ensure that output/production targets are achieved through efficient deployment of people and machine capacity.

My client designs, manufactures and specialises in critical lifesaving products that are required in the Aerospace and Defence sector. They supply to all around the world and have innovative products that has built them a highly reputable brand identity.
The role - Production Team Leader - Middlesex
Plan, monitor and allocate work as determined by job packs and maximise the output of people and machines in the cell.
Communicate and monitor team performance against KPI/metrics, e.g. shortages, spares orders, deliveries and priorities on a daily basis.
Investigate the causes of poor productivity and implement action plans to address them.
Providing progress updates at regular weekly departmental meetings answering queries from internal departments and line management
Monitoring of sick absence and attendance
Completion of appraisals and Training plans
Maintaining a skills matrix for their team
Conducting and arranging training on the job for members of the team
Recruitment of team members as required
Handling employee disputes
Ensure compliance with all relevant SOP's, Work Instructions and PS's and that all necessary records and logs are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
Initiating and participating in 5S, ToC and other improvement activities.
Ensure all relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times including conducting Risk Assessments (General, COSHH and Puwer) also reviewing Manual Handling procedures and Material Safety Data Sheets.
Qualifications/skills - Production Team Leader - Middlesex
- Experience of managing people.
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment advantage would be aerospace.
Good Computing skills - emails. SAP or equivalent
Due to the hands on nature of the roles experience in the work of the team is an advantage - e.g. Seat fitter, Machinist, Operator
Numerical ability - interpreting graphs, percentages, analysing trend data
