A Project Engineer with strong background in verification and validation is required by the worlds leading supplier of critical control systems. You will be responsible for Leading the development of new military aircraft equipment, from conceptual design through to certification and release to service.

Role: Project Engineer

As Project Engineer you will be responsible for:

+ Ensuring the establishment of clear requirements baselines prior to commencement of design
+ Preparing Engineering Management Plans, including estimates for schedule & resource requirements

+ Providing technical leadership to ensure creativity, objective concept generation, technical excellence and structured problem solving

+ Ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with Life-Cycle Management, Engineering and other internal processes

+ Working with the Project Manager to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with technical, cost and schedule requirements
+ Leading the active management of technical risks
+ Ensuring that equipment designs are optimised for manufacturability

+ Providing technical progress reports in accordance with the business reporting structure

+ Supporting Engineering Management in the improvement of efficiency and the development of capability through the use of staff development, new tools and processes

+ Managing team performance


As Project Engineer you will have experience of:

+ Degree / HND Qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline
+ Experience of leading equipment development projects, using a diverse range of technical specialists

+ Experience of working within a structured Life-Cycle Management framework
+ Experience of customer and supplier liaison
+ A clear understanding of military or civil aircraft airworthiness and certification
+ Experience of the management of product development from concept to series production
+ A strong understanding of the efficient & robust application of systems engineering methods
+ Extensive experience of liaison with customers and aircraft operators
