Project Manager

Role: Project Manager.

Salary: £45,000 plus company car, private pension, private healthcare.

Hours: 40hrs/week, home based.

Location: Can live UK wide - need to be willing to travel as required

The company

A well-established, international provider of products and solutions within the life science, pharmaceutical and medical fields. A manufacturer and worldwide distributor of a range of equipment and systems utilised within biopharmaceutical and biomedical production, manufacturing and research environments as well as being utilised for laboratory applications.

The role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, manufacture and site installation of large, high value, custom-made equipment used at research sites, laboratories or pharma and medical production and manufacturing facilities, ensuring they are delivered within budget, to time and to customer specification.

These systems (ranging from £200k - £2m in value) are complex and custom-made and so each specification will be different.

You will manage the full life cycle from the customer kick off meeting to understand these specific needs to communicating these to the manufacturing department and ensuring they are meeting the required specification.

Your role will also involve forward planning and risk assessing any potential issues, regularly updating the customer re. project progress (delays, changes in costs etc.) and feeding back to the manufacturing department any changes or modifications required. Towards the end of the project you will also oversee the planning and logistics of the transport and installation of these large systems at client sites, which are often a GMP/clean room environment with standards and regulations to be adhered to.

You will deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, with a big focus on relationship management.

Experience/skills required:

  • Project Management experience within a highly regulated industry, ideally medical, life sciences or pharmaceutical
  • Engineering experience, ideally with exposure to production lines or a manufacturing environment
  • A Project Management qualification
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to have difficult conversations and manage expectations whilst retaining a positive working relationship
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • UK driving licence
