Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: Up to £60,000 ( depending on experience )
Location: Horsham

A rapidly expanding and market leading technology business are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to provide engineering design support as part of the Mechanical Design Team

With your solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and experience of both rapid-prototyping and volume manufacturing techniques , you will be required to couple creative design flair with an attention to quality

Skills required for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

• ​Excellent communication skills with proven ability to contribute to design review meetings and form working relationships with supplier partners and peers

• Significant design experience including complex mechanical systems

• Overall system mechanical layout and packaging

• Sound knowledge of drawing Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing ( GD&T )

• Drawing checking and release control experience

• A strong understanding of computer aided engineering ; component and systems modelling

• CAD ( ideally Creo ) intermediate level proficiency for concept design activity and reviewing / checking of design team output

• ​Experience of using product data management systems ( Teamcentre , Windchill , DDM etc. )

• Experience in design team management and task delivery planning

• Strong expertise in mechanical design methodology and product development processes as applied to the full product life cycle

• Design experience with complex mechanical systems comprising high temperature operation and insulation , pressurised systems , gas and liquid flow control, electronic controls and power electronics would be an advantage

• ​Some knowledge and experience of using FEA analysis software desirable
