We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Product Assurance Engineer (Quality Manager) with a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. This role provides you with the opportunity to work on meaningful and high-calibre projects alongside leading engineers and business professionals within an established, award-winning company.

Working as part of the Southampton Quality team responsible for Product Assurance tasks you will cover all aspects of product assurance; ensuring product quality and the integrity of our design and manufacturing processes, working closely with Project Managers, Customers, Design/Development teams, Operations and Purchasing/ Suppliers.

What you will do

  • Taking a lead Quality Assurance role in a key project.

  • Product Assurance support to Projects. Ensure all customer requirements are satisfied by effective assurance planning and implementation.

  • Management of Project Quality topics e.g. write Assurance plans, review product build paperwork and authorise final release certificates of conformance (CofC), concessions, and failure analysis.

  • Review and approval of engineering changes.

  • Non-conformance management (failure analysis, root cause corrective and preventative actions) recording progress on SAP, and track concessions.

  • Support Projects and Design to resolve Quality Assurance issues, including reports and presentations to management and cross functional teams.

  • Build and maintain effective contacts with a range of people across the Business.

  • Able to communicate effectively with technical specialists and customers.

  • Generate monthly status reports for QA Management. Be able to present information to Projects, Customer End Users or Suppliers as appropriate.

  • Undertake 2-3 internal Quality audits per year.

What we are looking for

  • Educated to HND level or equivalent in relevant science or engineering subject.

  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written, with all levels of the business and customers.

  • Working knowledge of applying quality standards : ISO-9001 (Preferably AS-9100).

  • Experience in a relevant manufacturing based industry (for example - electronics, semiconductor, optical packaging, medical, automotive, Space or defence).

  • Practical experience working in a Quality Assurance / Project assurance discipline within an engineering design and/or manufacturing environment.

Desirable

  • Product Assurance work for Space projects.

  • Familiar with SAP.

  • Familiar with configuration management.

  • Familiar with Quality tools and techniques - (D)FMEA, Root cause analysis e.g. 8D, 5-Whys, statistical techniques.
