Service Asset and Licencing Technician

Location: Salisbury

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: £200 - £250 per day

Clearance: Active SC Clearance is required for this role


An opportunity has arisen for a Service Asset and Licence Technician to enhance their Licensing Knowledge and skills working on a challenging and rewarding site.. This role is to assist in achieving compliance across the licence database and Client sites reporting directly to the Service Asset and Licence Manager.


+ Assist with Daily management of the SACM team licencing call queue

+ Responsibility for the license content within the Licence Management Database (LMDB) and the Electronic Definitive Media Library (eDML) ensuring content is accurate, concise and complete.

+ Reconciliation of licence information, installed software vs consumed software against actual entitlement

+ Keep track of software maintenance agreements, in collaboration with Procurement team, to ensure that expiry dates are not exceeded and renewals are dealt with promptly and effectively.

+ Assist in highlighting potential areas of consolidation leading to cost reduction for the client, the outcomes managed through the change process.

+ Provide License Management input to Service, Project and Stakeholders.

+ Provide input with the validation of All Asset registers and Configuration databases.

-Work alongside Service Architects and Design group when required ensuring that the service assets and Licensing considerations are understood and catered for.

+ Undertake Service Impact and Change Assessments.

+ Identification of Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies related to Projects and their impact upon ongoing support.

+ Identify areas for improvement for Service Asset and License Management Team with regards to documentation and process.


Essential skills and experience

+ Knowledge of one or more of the major Software Publishing houses

+ An understanding of Supplier Management

+ An understanding of customer relationship and management

+ Previous experience in a Service management role

+ A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Technical Skills:

+ ITIL Foundation Certificate v3 or v4

+ Experience with Windows 7 or Windows 10

Desired Experience:

+A basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies

+ SC or DV Cleared, or willing to undergo appropriate vetting to achieve SC Clearance

+ A basic understanding of OS and Application Virtulisation technologies

+ Experience in License Management and managing assets in a complex IT support environment
