Software Engineer

A Software Engineer with a Mathematics or Physics background is required to join a leading technology company who manufacture innovative instrumentation equipment.You will help develop Software that will allow customers around the globe make new scientific discoveries each and every day.

Role: Software Engineer

As Software Engineer you will be responsible for:

+ Full software life cycle from concept to test and maintenance for a range of cutting-edge scientific products
+ Engaging with our engineers, product managers and external customers to refine specifications, design documents, and test procedures and applications
+ Developing algorithms for the correct analysis of measured data
+ Writing clean maintainable code
+ Implementing unit tests to aid development
+ Technically responsible for ensuring projects meet internal and external customer requirements and completing concept designs through to production

+ Ensuring code repositories and project documentation are up to date

Experience:

As Software Engineer you will have experience of:

+ Degree qualified or equivalent in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant discipline
+ Good working knowledge of C / C++ / C#
+ Knowledge of common libraries (e.g. Boost) and build tools (e.g. CMake)
+ Use of GIT for version control
+ Development on Linux and for ARM architectures
+ Presentation and visualisation of measurement data
+ Some experience with Python would be an advantage
