An exciting opportunity to join a growing aerospace engineering company. This organisation is seeking a Workshop Technician to join their busy team based in Stansted, Essex.

In this role you will be assisting the Workshop Manager by providing general support in the workshop for day-to-day fabrication, assembly and inspection activities.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Assisting with onsite manufacturing and assembly

• Manufacturing of wiring harnesses and other electrical assemblies to aviation standards, following engineering drawings and specifications

• Manufacturing of small metal brackets and parts when required to support main wiring harness work-dependant on candidates prior experience

• Creating and maintaining documentation and work packs for manufacturing activities being carried out onsite and at subcontractors

• Keeping track of tool calibration and maintenance of other equipment being used

• Performing testing and inspection of manufactured assemblies

• Keeping general workshop tidy and organised to carry out the required work, and maintain a safe working environment

Experience/Skills Required:

• Previous experience working in a workshop, ideally in Aerospace / Automotive / Defence / Mechanical/Electrical environments

• Confident understanding of engineering drawings, electrical symbols and wiring diagrams

• Experience with handling machines used in sheet metal parts, fabrication and/or electrical wiring harness fabrication

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word programs

• Basic project management skills

• UK driving licence
